Who we helped
The London Borough of Hounslow.
When Hounslow Council moved from the old Civic Centre into Hounslow House, it was decided that Trimmer Walk undercroft – a space historically used for storage – should be converted into what is now The Trimmer Centre.
What we did
We cleared the space and stripped out the internal walls and services in preparation for the refurbishment.
A combination of direct labour and a variety of contractors was used – all working under Coalo’s management. The job was expanded in scope adding a further layer of complexity.
Works started in mid-December 2018 with an agreed handover date of mid-April 2019.
Coalo delivered the strip-out and disposal of 168.5 tons of waste. We then undertook structural, building and fabrication work, including flood defences, and designed and installed large scale air-conditioning and ventilation systems.
We fitted MOD-standard walls to entrances and installed power, lighting and door entry systems, along with fire and intruder alarms.
We then dug out and tarmacked the parking area, and made and installed internal doors and entrance gates with roller shutters and wicker gates. Male and female toilets were added, along with showers and a kitchen – all disability-friendly. Finally, we delivered all decoration and flooring finishes.
The project was handed over on time. To complete the refurbishment and ensure an attractive new entrance to the Trimmer Centre, our grounds maintenance team landscaped areas with exceptional results.
